The 3-star Rho hotel opened its doors in April 1989. The building was formerly used by an old Amsterdam gold trading company. The beautiful reception and lobby were once a theater, built in 1908 in Art-Deco style. The RHO HOTEL is located in the heart of the old city in a quiet side street, a few steps from the historic DAM square, the central square of Amsterdam, with the Royal Palace and the New Church. The Central Station is about 5 min. walking distance. shopping and night life is, although it's quiet location, all around the hotel. You find the best department stores, the unique MAGNA PLAZA shopping mall, and the long pedestrian shopping street "Kalverstraat" at walking distance. Excursions by bus or by boat are leaving from around the corner. Around the hotel are the canals with their historic houses.
